New music.

How do you discover your new music? Do you listen to only what radio plays, or do you explore iTunes, Rhapsody, LastFM or the like?

If you’ve discovered something new lately, please share.

I listen to the radio, listen to music on pandora.com, sometimes LastFM, and youtube. Sometimes if I’m watching T.V. or a movie and I hear a song I like and haven’t heard before, I look it up - but that tends to be difficult. Also while I played musical instruments, I discovered new music from whatever music we play in band/orchestra/private instructor/music books I find in music stores. I’m not sure any of that is new, but yeah…

Thanks for the compliment on my poem Musings by the way.

I usually just take the advice my friends pass along. I’m not much of a music person, and my tastes haven’t changed much in the past 15 years or so lol. I’m still listening to the same to bands I always have (Hanson and Jimmy Buffett)

Outside of that, whatever is on the radio works. It’s all background noise to me anyways.

I normally listen to my friend’s suggestions, but when I have time I’ll peruse Rhapsody and listen to different artists and see if I can find one I like

Mostly the radio, but I also listen to Pandora sometimes, iTunes radio, and my brother tends to call me every time he hears a good song, so I find a lot of new music through him.

I guess I’m the only one who actually *looks* for music. Wow.

What I like to do is browse Myspace or Purevolume. The cool thing for myspace though is you can check out the other bands on the ‘top friends’ and that’s how I usually discover music

Ahh, I actually do this, too… but only on Myspace. I’ve rarely used Purevolume.

To be honest, i rarely listen to the radio. I go to a lot of shows and i find new music there with the opening bands and such. A lot of the time i’ll check out music that my friends suggest, and i tend to go out onto myspace or something to find bands in the same generes that i’m currently into.

I subscribe to music blogs and they usually mention new artists. I don’t have a TV nor do I listen to the radio enough to get the new info.

I usually check out what my friends are listening to, and if I read an interesting blog of a person who likes different music than I do, I sometimes check out their favorite bands on last.fm, etc.

I used to check out LiveJournal, but lately I use blogs and Last.fm.
